Cooling sweet cherry fruits prolongs their use value

Sweet cherry (Prunus avium L.) fruits are characterised by a short shelf life. To extend the life, pre-storage hydrocooling is carried out to reduce their temperature before storing them in cold storage. During 2015 and 2016, treatment on of two sweet cultivars, 'Kordia' 'Regina', from orchards locality Trebinje, was performed. Samples both cultivars were subjected an automatic system at 0.9 ºC for 10 minutes. The treated cooling process being placed storage, control put into storage without hydrocooling. 15 days NA 1 humidity 85-95%. Analysis fruit mass, colour, firmness performed after harvest results showed significant positive effect i.e., had less loss compared fruits. same higher flesh during skin highest intensity red colour harvesting time, while years decreased year have impact all examined characteristics cultivars.
